The Story of Bud's Pfeiffer Jewelers

The Early Era: Bud & Doris Pfeiffer
1944
Bud Pfeiffer started teaching watchmaking.
1972
Bud & Doris Pfeiffer bought their first store in Salem. Joe began working for his parents at this time at age 15.
Continuity and Expansion: Joe Pfeiffer taking the Reins
1981
Joe Pfeiffer bought his first store in Bedford, IN.
1985
Joe Pfeiffer bought the Salem store from his parents and ran it until it closed in October 2024.

Bud & Doris bought the Corydon store at 123 E. Chestnut St. This location remained open until 2019, when Joe Pfeiffer purchased the current Corydon store at 109 N. Elm St.

Today, the store continues to operate under the personal supervision of Joe Pfeiffer, who remains the active owner/operator. The business thrives on its agility and customer-first model: providing an exceptional range of quality products, performing specialized jewelry and watch repairs, and providing customized ordering options—ensuring that if a specific piece is not in stock, it can be acquired promptly for the customer.
